'Gokusen: the movie' box office earnings report!

Here's some updates on the progress of Gokusen: the movie in the box office earnings...

The movie is currently in #75 place on the top 100 for the 'Most Grossed Movie in its Opening Weekend' of all-time in Japan list earning $5,064,634 (US dollars) for its opening weekend, and $11,723,645 in total so far.

13th Nikkan Sports Drama Awards results

here are the results from the notoriously fan-based Nikkan Sports Drama Awards recently held for Spring (April-June in japan)
Ueda's Konkatsu was nominated in most of the main categories...

Best Drama:
1. Smile (2649 votes)
2. Mr Brain (1944 votes)
3. The Quiz Show (1805 votes)
4. Konkatsu (1370 votes)
5. Boss (1342 votes)

For the other categories, the lead actor Nakai Masahiro was voted #4 for 'best actor' with 1409 votes, Ueto Aya was voted #3 for 'best actress' with 1645 votes & Shaku Yumiko voted #4 for 'best supporting actress' with 649 votes...sadly though, Ueda didn't win any awards, and the drama wasn't nominated in the 'best supporting actor' category.

'Hissatsu Shigotonin 2009' Ep 13 screenshots!

Gomen to KAT-UN fans, but this post is another Koki-only entry!Hurray to his fans, I have some more eye-candy! Lately I've been hooked on his recent drama Hissatsu Shigonotnin 2009, and just had the urge to make screencaps from the episodes he appeared in. I'll be posting them in batches, the batch I'm posting today are from ep 13 (Koki-kun's first appearance)! He just oozes with hotness & cuteness in this drama!

Koki plays a shigotonin (assassin) in this drama, it's quite fun to watch actually, I recommend it to any Koki fan
You can stream the drama with english subs at Mysoju, however they only have up to ep 3 so far...if you can read Chinese, then you can stream ep 13-22 with chinese subs at Tudou.

World Asia 30 Hottest Artists 09 (March 31, 2009)

Although this ranking was released months ago, but I've only just known about this a moment ago...there was this ranking released from a un-specified Korean magazine, it's a list for the "World Asian 30 hottest Artists 09" (at least, that's what it states). And apparently, KAT-TUN is in this particular ranking! They were in #11, just missed out on the top 10, but nevertheless, they were the highest ranked non-Korean artist on the list! Omedatou!

Now, personally, I'm still a bit confused by the nature of this particular ranking...because on this page where the complete ranking was posted:

it only notes "The number of votes depended on credit cards spent"...I'm not quite sure about that part...because I don't know if the results are based on the amount of money people have spent on these artists' merchandise using their credit cards...or was it the amount of money people had spent on their credit cards just to cast their votes in this particular poll...or if it's from some other statistics involving credit cards.

There's also quite a lot of disputes against this ranking, many people criticize it as being "Korean-biased" because all the artists in the top 10 are Korean, and the un-specified source is also a Korean magazine, the person who posted this ranking in the link above also did not specify which particular Korean magazine it is from, and there's no link to the source...some of the results are also very surprising and suspicious...so because of all these reasons, there's some suspicions that this ranking is fan-made (probably by a Korean fan or someone who is a hardcore Korean music lover). All in all, this ranking is questionable.

So I have all these mixed feelings about this ranking...I'm really happy that our KAT-TUN guys were ranked the highest of all non-Koreans on the list...however, I also question the credibility of this ranking.
At this moment though, there's all these speculations, disputes and suspicions about this particular ranking. So I suggest you not to completely believe this ranking until the source is verified.

Junno's new acting role!

It's been a looonnnngggggg time since I last posted a individual entry on Junno! And good news for his fans, he has a new acting role in a upcoming drama!

Junno to Show ‘SAMURAI LOVE ATTACK’ in Drama! [July 20th 2009]:


Although most of you probably already know, ‘こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所 / Kochira Katsushika-Ku Kameari Koen mae Hashutsujo (lit. This is the police station in front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward)’ better known as ‘こち亀 / Kochi-Kame’, the long-running hit manga series featured in the popular manga magazine Shonen Jump, will be adapted into a drama starting from August 1st featuring SMAP member Katori Shingo as the lead actor.
KAT-TUN member Taguchi Junnosuke will make a guest appearance in the third episode!
The episode starring Taguchi will be broadcast on August 15th (Sat) from 19:56!
His character’s name is Araki Kakunoshin, and he is a ghost samurai ‘living’ in a haunted mansion!

Speaking of samurai, some diehard fans of Taguchi might remember his solo song ‘SAMURAI LOVE ATTACK’! Taguchi has always looked good in kimono! Fans must be wondering and looking forward to seeing what sort of costume he would wear, and what sort of character he would be!

Jin's message for Yankumi

As most of you know, there was a special aired on July 11th 2009 to promote the Gokusen movie and to commemorate 7 years of the live action...Nakama Yukie, KAME, and the other main casts from season 3 were all there. But sadly, most of the casts from season 1 & 2 did not attend...however, 4 of the 5 main 3-D students from both seasons all left VTR messages for Nakama Yukie aka "Yankumi". The casts who left messages included Oguri Shun, Matsumoto Jun, Ishigaki Yuma & Narimiya Hiroki from season 1. And Hayami Mokomichi, Teppei Koike, Koide Keisuke & JIN from season 2.

I've just uploaded the clip a moment ago...I wasn't able to sub it though, because I have so many videos to sub...but they were basically just expressing their gratitude towards Yankumi:
