'Popolo' Dec 2009 - What is your karaoke style?

You know what I love about Japanese ent mags? Often they conduct these weird but interesting & fun polls & surveys for the readers to participate in. And I have posted some of these polls here...if you think the 'Popolo Gakuen' polls published previously in Popolo mag was odd? Well, apparently they've done it again! This time, it's even weirder! In 'Popolo's most recent December issue, they published a quiz of some sort for their readers to test on themselves...basically, like any normal multiple answers quiz, you choose the answer that best describes you for each question.
For this particular survey, readers are being quized on, and based on their final results to determine which JE group's style & songs suits your karaoke style the best! Sounds weird doesn't it? But like always, these little polls & surveys are still fun to read!
Apart from KAT-TUN's style, the other JE groups included in the final results are Arashi, Kanjani8 & Tegomass.

I tried the survey & my style turned out to be KAT-TUN! YIPPEE!What luck! And how accurate it is! Because it's true, most of the songs I always sing at karaoke are indeed KT songs!KT's songs are generally very upbeat & catchy, their songs are the sort which really gives you the urge to get up & dance & make you feel good, and lighten your mood!but KT also has some really lovely ballads too, which my friends & I love to sing at karaoke too!

Anyway, why don't you guys give this quiz a go & see which JE group style you end up getting? It's fun!

Also, just a little bit of update on Jin's upcoming movie Bandage...my good friend Ami-chan has informed me that there will be a special advance screening of the movie on Nov 2nd in Japan. But it's only going to be a exclusive screening reserved for only media commentators & special invitations. The actual release date of the movie is January of 2010.

Recently KAT-TUN member Nakamaru has become fond of several cosmetic items! What are they?

"Hi, this is Nakamaru Yuichi. Compared to a while ago there are a wide variety of cosmetic items for men. So today I'm going to tell you about some I'm often using. After washing my face I usually apply toning lotion or if my skin's really dry some cream to moisten it. As for face wash I recommend 'OXY'. I first learned about it when one of the [KAT-TUN] members appeared in a TV commercial for 'OXY'. It becomes bubbly in a short amount of time, takes care of stains and you feel refreshed after using it. So I think it's a good choice even for women who want to refresh themselves. As for toning lotions I've recently started to use 'Goku-jyun-α (極潤α)', which is part of line of skincare products called 'Hada Labo (肌研)'. It has 'super hyaluronic acid' in it and it really helps keep the skin moist. By far I think this is the best combination."

Nakamaru seriously cares about his skin! With that much attention his good looks might become even better!

there's not much to update on today...I didn't bother to search for any updates today, gomen! But I thought I should still post something...so, I figured I'll just share these 2 old commercials of KAT-TUN I recently uploaded...

a very old commercial for LOTTE Crunky chocolate, 1 of their oldest cms...this one is way back in 2002, when the KT guys were still in their Johnny Junior years, long before they debuted...


this is also a old cm featuring Jin & senpai Tackey from Tackey & Tsubasa for LOTTE ice cream...I don't remember which year exactly this was from, but I think it was still during KT's junior years in the Jimusho...


sorry this isn't much...but look on the bright side, we get to see chibi KT again!by the way, that old LOTTE Crunky cm is pretty kawaii too
Hopefully I'll have some better updates next time.

this particular issue of the mag contained a special feature of KAT-TUN, apart from the usual interviews, there's also 'KAT-TUN's history at a glance', you will see from the last 2 scans that they also printed some photos of the KT guys from back in their Johnny Junior years, even pics of when they were only chibi...to show us how these guys have grown up & evolved over the years!

Best Jeanist: Kamenashi, Koda win fourth [19/10/09]:

The 26th annual Best Jeanist awards were presented on Sunday. For the fourth consecutive year, KAT-TUN member Kazuya Kamenashi and singer Kumi Koda were voted #1 in the public selection category.

More than 70,000 votes were counted between October of last year and this past August. Kamenashi won another clear victory with almost 26,000 votes, while Arashi's Masaki Aiba came in second with about 8,500 votes. Koda, on the other hand, received 7,000 votes to beat aiko (5,500 votes).

This gives both Koda and Kamenashi a chance to win their fifth awards next year, which will place them in the "hall of fame" and remove them from future ballots. So far, Takuya Kimura, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, and Ayumi Hamasaki have been put in the hall of fame.

For the committee selection awards, the winners were Miyuki Hatoyama (the wife of Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama), DAIGO, and the group SPEED. In the international category, which was established last year, Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan received the award.

Channel [V]'s 'Battle of the Pop' - KAT-TUN vs Arashi!

Round 3 of Channel [V]'s 'Battle of the Pop - Japan vs Korea' has ended, and it's all down to 2 fantastic Japanese bands, our KAT-TUN guys have successfully defeated TVXQ/DBSK! Yay!The TVXQ fans sure put up a very strong fight with us & we did fall behind them several times, but we eventually succeeded at the end! Well done guys!

But, don't rest just yet my fellow KT fans, because this "battle" is not finished yet! We are now on to the FINAL round, and this time our KT guys are up against their big senpai Arashi! Whoever wins this round will be crowned the champion of this 'Battle of the Pop'!
I won't deny that Arashi will be our toughest opponent yet, and chances of KT surpassing their senpai is quite slim, but don't let this faze you! As long as we put up a good & clean fight, and do our best, who knows what the outcome is? Either of them can be winners!

KAT-TUN Members Discuss Akanishi's Nude Photos! [18/10/09]:

A while ago KAT-TUN member Akanishi Jin appeared in a fashion magazine posing fully nude in suggestive scenes with a foreign woman. The photos were very popular among fans. “They were very sexy!!” “[Akanishi] has gone to where no other Johnny's member had gone to before. It could only have been done by Jin.” In a recent broadcast of the radio program ‘R-One KAT-TUN' the members themselves talked about the pictures. The subject was brought up when the members read out a question sent by a fan. “Have you seen Akanishi-kun's nude photos? Did Ueda-kun get excited?” Nakamaru asked Ueda “Have you seen them?” Ueda replied “Akanishi showed them to me. When Akanishi asked me ‘Did you take a look at the photos?' I said ‘No.' He was carrying around the magazine with the nude photos in his own bag. He pulled it out and showed them to me like ‘Here, have a look.'”
Akanishi's fellow members more or less praised the photos as well. “I guess they're okay.” “They were sexy.” “Actually, I thought they went beyond sexy.” “He's always pushing the boundaries.” Fans are looking forward to seeing Akanishi continue trying all sorts of different things.
